All about Area 4
It all begins with an idea.
Area 4 is comprised entirely of high altitude airspace (at or above FL270), and provides the initial sequencing for DEN arrivals from the southwest, as well as final sequencing for TMIs to LAS, LAX, and PHX area airports. Area 4 overlies many of the busy ski country airports.

Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, I earned my degree in Aeronautical Science with a minor in Air Traffic Control from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Daytona Beach campus. I began my FAA career in 2005 at Jacksonville Center (ZJX), where I worked until 2012. I then transferred to Denver Center (ZDV), certifying in Area 3 and working there until 2019 before moving to Area 4 for a change of pace.
Throughout my career, I’ve been actively involved in a wide range of NATCA duties. While this is my first time serving as the Area Representative for Area 4, I’ve previously contributed in many capacities, including helping establish the Safety Council at ZJX, participating in numerous controller workgroups, and serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ERAM, CPDLC, and TEAM. I also serve as the area scheduler for five years.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling the world with my wife, who is also an air traffic controller in Area 6.
